‘Executive Summary’ of the last 3 months (ish)…

Apparently it’s 2014 now. Go figure.

The few months before Christmas were so busy, and in regards to AA this meant mainly working on Women Working Worldwide. For our piece of mind and for general interest of our readers this is basically what we achieved in autumn. Not so elegantly put, but you get the idea…

We made a communication summary of WWW and our ‘consultancy ‘ plan way back in August. Set up Twitter and Facebook, scheduling 3 months of activity. We have also ran a ‘sister workshop’ which was a confidence workshop run for women in Hulme with Lorna Fitzsimons and the Greater Manchester Police, about confidence in the workplace and on the street. Meeting with Julie every 3 weeks, we then wrote a a future comms strategy outlining the different strategies WWW could take. We made a short animated film about WWW (http://vimeo.com/81440545), attended a Capturing the Gains talk and interviewed academics associated with WWW at the University.

Phew.

Ultimately Beth and I hope our work was in any way useful to WWW. We learnt a lot and really do hope it was mutual. Labour rights, especially those of women, are very close to both our hearts and this project has definitely solidified that for me. Currently at an exciting cross roads, WWW are a fantastic charity and a lovely group of women who we will be staying in touch with. Watch this space.

Beth and I continue to be busy in our professional and personal lives. Blurry. Always plotting new projects, raising our expectations and aspirations and keeping learning at the heart of what we do. So, what does 2014 hold? Good question, I’ll let you know in about 12 months.

The Women are Working….

Hello there!

It seems pretty apparent how this is going to work.

We spend more time on our projects, improving their PR, social media platforms and inner workings, than our own. And that’s good. If not, great. Loads of consultancy firms promote themselves more than their clients and I’m not sure if that’s the best way of going about things.

So we might not post on this all the time or tweet all the time @AcuteAgency but you know what, we are trying really hard to promote one of our current organisations, Women Working Worldwide http://www.women-ww.org/ and have recent set up @WomenWorkWorld. We are finding funding to make a short film campaign, sorting out WWW facebook page and also organising a Confidence workshop including WWW in October. Busy bees.

There’s a part of me that goes on our WordPress site and gasps at the fact that our last post was about Android. So much has happened since then (Beth’s met the Prime Minister to talk about Arts funding in the North West for heavens sake!). Just because we aren’t writing about it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. I could go on about how this happens a lot in lots of different media/online outlets, but that’s a different story, and another post, and I’ve got to go schedule some tweets for one of the 5 Twitter accounts we run!

But for now, check out Women Working Worldwide website and go follow @WomenWorkWorld, we’ll be back soon….Kat 🙂
